Doctor and wife moving to work at Northwestern memorial hospital.Seeking info about houses in NW suburbs of Chicago which is safe and has a commute of about 30 mins to work. Will consider houses in the 350-550k range

Is there a reason why you're specifically looking at the NW suburbs? Not many NW suburbs have a 30 min commute to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. A good NW suburb to look at is Park Ridge. A reasonable commute to work and it is a really nice area.

Tough commute. To be clear, your work is at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, correct?

Northwestern Medicine operates several hospitals in the Chicago area: Locations at Northwestern Medicine (NMH) | Northwestern Medicine | (312) 926-2000

There is no suburb with an average commute to NWMH less than 30 minutes unless your commute is at midnite.

I'd recommend Evanston or southern Wilmette in the north suburbs so you can hop on the Purple and Red line CTA and take it to work during bad weather or bad traffic. though that will probably be 45 minutes or so.

I suggest the northern suburbs or the western suburbs. They are far nicer than the NW suburbs. Commutes are usually longer than what you posted. If you are driving at odd times, very early or late it will be a lot better than in rush hour.

Does the OP mean Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights? That would make more sense for a northwest suburban house hunt. Commuting from the northwest suburbs to Northwestern Hospital will be substantially more than 30 minutes.

Ha, Old Town to Northwestern Memorial by car at 7:45AM on a weekday is going to take a little longer than 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the entrance of the garage it will take 15min to park walk to where you need to be.

Could you please clarify which hospital? Sounds like you mean Northwestern Memorial in the Streeterville neighborhood of Chicago. I can't imagine a 30 minute commute to there from ANY suburb.
