Can you believe it. I knew this day would come. The Evanston condominium mark has broken the $2 Million mark! It is 4 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms in Sherman Plaza Luxury Residences.

That's insane!

For that price you could buy 10 condos in St. Louis. In fact, a house that size in Lafayette Park (a nice neighborhood) in St. Louis might cost you $500k, not even a 20% of that.

Wow.

That's a whopping $794 per square foot and views of everywhere, off the 24th floor. I guess that would make them priceless.

I think I would by a condominium in Downtown Chicago or Lincoln Park before I purchased a condo in Evanston, especially for that price. There is really no reason for you to live in Downtown Evanston. Everything except the movie theater closes at 10PM. Downtown Evanston is actually just a false facade. It looks interesting, and fun. But it actually quite boring after you have ate out a few times and shoped at the few chain stores. It is still nice for a suburban downtown.

Well, call me a faker. I'm an exceptional faker, because I won't be buying into Sherman Plaza (great location!) at that price.

Has it sold or is that just the asking price?

Wonder the association fees for a 3M condo runs. Likely more then a lot of folks mortgages I bet

Sadly, I think I have to agree here. Evanston at first glance seems to be pretty lively, but really it is just a suburb that happens to be lit up and has some fairly tall buildings. It just doesn't have that electricity or nightlife vibe you'll find down in various neighborhoods down in Chicago, or even a vibrant college bar scene like you'll find in Big 10 towns such as Ann Arbor (Michigan) or Urbana-Champaign. Despite all that, it still seems like a comfortable place to live with good commuting options to Chicago.
