Hi Everyone-I grew up in Chicago and spent most of my adult life in St. Charles, IL.

Moved to Arkansas 2 years ago and am now coming back to Chicago for job reasons.

I am single,in my 50's and have a pooch-lab but only 60 pounds.

Real Estate is crazy in the burbs. Do you think it is possible to get a 2-3 bedroom house or townhouse-hoping for a basement for $200,000 in a safe neighborhood?

Appreciate your help.

I'd say absolutely yes. I don't know about what area you are looking at, but you certainly could in Palatine. I know you could in my development as a matter of fact.

Welcome back!

Definitely!! I am searching them right now as comps for a friend who is selling his town home, and there's lots of them in that price range in the NW burbs, which are very safe.

Good luck, now is a great time to buy because it's after prime selling season.

I mean it is prime season for buyers. It's after the Spring rush, and right before the holidays. People are desperate to get rid of their homes, and it's a big buyers market this time of year.

Good luck.
