I use the Illinois interactive Report Card for the in depth analysis I need. It is so incredibly detailed, that it really helped me locate the school I wanted for my children, in particular for my autistic son.

Interesting to note that New Trier is by far the highest rated Chicago suburb HS at #14.

Lake Forest is next at #34, Naperville North at #58, and Stevenson at #82.

The list is worthless without Hinsdale Central. Hinsdale schools were rejected because of a misunderstanding as far as the gratuation rate, which Newsweek confused as a reported 14% graduation rate as opposed to the 99% that the school sent. Therefore the school was rejected. Niche Magazine just came out with Hinsdale Central as the 22nd best in the US. This just goes to show how unreliable these lists are. Also noted was the absence of Glenbrook North on the list. Who knows what else is missing here.

In Niche magazine, Stevenson is #5 in the nation, and New Trier is 35, so go figure. I think Stevenson ranks way lower in the Newsweek list than New Trier.

Niche is the worst ranking of all. They survey STUDENTS, sometimes just a handful, and their algorithm includes criteria like CAFETERIA FOOD. Plus they openly admit their data collection process is errant!
