We are looking at townhomes in North Aurora and found a number for sale in Summer Wind Subdivision, North Aurora. Does anyone know if this is a good subdivision? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We are also planning to look at townhomes in Oswego - any opinions on which is a better investment for 3-5 before we resell - North Aurora or Oswego?

Default only my opnion

As an area resident for 30+ years I have an opnion. Both areas arefine places to live and because od consistant growth real estate appriciaction would be similar. If travel east, toward Chicaco, is important I would opt for N Aurora because of its access to I88. I live on the east side of Oswego and no matter what avenue I take it takes 30 min to get to RT59 & I88 in morning traffic. I'm retired so I no longer need to drive in rush hr traffic.

Default good

I know someone that lives in that area and I have never felt unsafe in that spot. It seems like it is dominated by people that are just "starting out" and younger couples. Nice area; however, the traffic is getting worse there and the infrastructure is trying to catch up.

The area in North Aurora is growing commercially right now. traffic on Randall is quite busy. Access to shopping etc on Orchard Road is a great benefit, as is the really quick access to I88. Those townhomes are a bit older, so i would definitely check them out with a home inspection. no idea on association fees etc. Oswego is also growing rapidly with commercial development. what was mentioned above about accessing routes east for commutes is really true. there is a lot of traffic and routes are usually packed. it does take another 15 to 20 minutes to access I88 from oswego. you did not mention price ranges, kids, need for schools etc. All of these things would also factor into your choices. as far as safety, i believe both would be safe locations.

If you have school-age kids, do a thorough research of schools: I recently left the area just because of that. parochial schools are snobish, lack programs and services, and some public schools are infested with social problems that they shouldn't be.
