Why does Anne M Jeans Elementary in Willowbrook have such low ratings? Should this school be avoided? Just curious. I thought Willowbrook IL was a pretty sought after and nice area with excellent schools.

Attendance area includes a large percentage of older condos and apartments that are somewhat notoriously rented to lower income students.

The majority of single family homes in Willowbrook are among the best value in eastern DuPage Co, though most are part of the Hinsdale South High attendance area that is far less sought after than homes in the Hinsdale Central attendance area. Course offerings are about as identical as enrollments allow and one could argue it is better to be in a smaller class at South's newer campus than in an overcrowded class at the older Central campus...

Usually I'm not big on test scores, but the school's scores are very low. There's 66% low income students but the school's scores seem like there's at least 75%-80% low income students. Also, if you do subgroup comparisons on Illinois Report Card, non low income students perform about the same as low income students

ANNE M JEANS ELEM SCHOOL | Achievement Gap

Hinsdale South and Hinsdale Central are very good schools and as Chet said, both schools offer pretty much the same course offerings (which are outstanding) and some people prefer one school over the other for different reasons. All of the other schools in Willowbrook and Burr Ridge are good except for Burr Ridge middle school (where kids from Jeans go) but if you're in the attendance boundaries for Jeans Elementary, send your kids to a private school for k-8 and then Hinsdale South.

If you're still in high school there is not much reason to be shopping for a $240K home.

He/she is an aspiring real estate investor getting a jump start. There are certainly worse things for a high school student to be curious about. Like big amounts of smoking stuff.

Or her parents are moving and she's helping them look for homes. I'm letting my daughter help us look at houses for our move and she could be a great real estate agent.

Its just a hobby of mine to look at homes for sale in the area and I came across that home which seemed like a very low price in a prestigious area.
