Hi all.

I've been asking questions about places all over the U.S.
My family is hoping to move in August or September.

I got my 1st interview in Aurora next week.

Can someone tell me what are some good areas to live in Aurora or the surrounding areas?

I don't mind a short commute (1/2 hour or less). We'll be a family of 4. I'm the only wage earner
and I'll make $64k. (That purchased us a $260k home in the DC area, where we live now. We're moving
because cost of living is really high here and my commute is over an hour each way.)

We like the idea of being close enough to get into the city, but not too close...

We'd like somewhere safe and pretty...with parks our young kids could play in.

I grew up in Rockford.

Thanks.

Todd,

Will you need to access to Chicago regularly for work? If not, you might consider Geneva, Batavia, St Charles. I think you'll also hear Wheaton a lot. Take a close look at property taxes of any place you might consider, when I lived in Oswego my taxes were almost 40% of my monthly house payment.

There are parts of Aurora that are not bad, the part that is near Eola Rd or near Naperville. You might also look in Naperville as well as the above places. I also hear North Aurora is nice.

Where in Aurora exactly? It's a big place.

Batavia, the far east side of Aurora (served by Indian Prairie or Batavia), North Aurora (Batavia schools only), Naperville, Warrenville. Sugar Grove might not be so bad either. In terms of your price point, Warrenville, Sugar Grove and North Aurora would fit the bill the best.

Thanks everyone. It looks like I'd be close to North aurora. Near where 88 and 31 meet. We don't need to go to Chicago for anything but fun. I'm looking at what's safe, nice, and affordable To commute to here... Or live near the job in aurora.
