There are no absolutes and too many possible options/outcomes, it truly depends on the individual. With home delivery and Uber, you don't necessarily need to be as close to the shopping center anymore.

I see your other posts and you should really find other ways to nail down where you want to live. What you are asking above is way too general.

Oak Park, Berwyn, Forest Park and Cicero. You do need to pay attention where you locate because some places are farther away from transit than others. All of these are served by buses, the metra as well as the L lines are accessible. If you live in the right place, stores may be walkable as well or you can take a bus to them easily.
