it seems like a lot of people live in joliet, but i was curious if like the main thing there is the prison (stateville) and if houses are near it. is the prison the main like 'thing' in joliet. like is that what its known for?

certainly not! ahhaha I live in the far west side of Joliet along Ridge and Theodore. That is not anywhere close to the jail, (20min) I believe houses are big, less expensive that other areas and rt 59 has everything city folk would need, from Target to Home depot, restr., mall, gyms, salons...you name it! I live in the minooka school district and a safe area. Joliet sometimes gets a bad rep but that is because they dont realize the size of it compared to other places (ex. Minooka) I am from the southside of chicago and it is like saying all of chicago is "bad" b/c maybe the pilsen area or the cabrini area has higher crime (just examples) Joliet has a ton to offer and is right by major xpress ways. Actually, Stateville is in Crest Hill, not Joliet.
