I don't fully trust Google/Mapquests' estimates of travel time. How long do you think it would take, on an average workday, to drive from Schaumburg to Northbrook?

In rush hour this is going to run abut 60-75 minutes.

Depends on how many tires you have to change when you drive through pot holes.

Great...

Thanks, though. I figured Google's estimate of ~30 min. wasn't accurate.

During rush hour, you are looking at about 1 1/2 hours on average. If you can skew it so you are leaving earlier/later, more like 1 hour.

I drive for work and can assure you that Google, Mapquest, etc. are way off with their commute times. You have to double them. Then of course if there's rain, ice, snow, pot hole dodging, blinding sun, etc. it can be longer than that.

I live in Schaumburg & my next door neighbor works in Northbrook. Takes her 1 hr each way but she starts at 7:00am and leaves at 3:30pm.

No easy way to go aside from 53 to Palatine or Dundee & then head east.
