They meet the OP’s price range, but the OP wants to be living in a walkable area. I wouldn’t recommend moments any of these based on that criteria. Oddly enough, the property across from Nordstrom Rack is the most “walkable” assuming they don’t need access to the Metra, but that area would probably be a massive adjustment for someone moving from Logan Square. It’s the epitome of suburbia.

What in the world is wrong with the first listing? That is way too good to be true! Only $272K for a new construction 4 bed, 3 bath in Naperville!! It also shows that the price dropped $1.2 million???

There must be a body underneath that house....lol

Way too good to be true. I wouldn’t trust buying that, even though it looks like the steal of the century.

*Edit- just read that you mentioned that the place had a fire. I guess that explains the price drop. It looks like they are selling the “lot” and not the house. All the pics of the house are a little misleading lol.

You might also look at Downers Grove and Lisle, or even northern Woodridge - Lisle downtown is limited but Downers Grove is pretty nice. You can still rent reasonably within walking distance from the train, especially near the Belmont station.

You want Metra access? Near Bolingbrook? Affordable? Downtown with charm? Lemont wins.

As long as the OP's boyfriend has a consistent work schedule and doesn't need to start or end too late, Lemont should work. Metra only runs 3 times in the morning, once mid-afternoon and 3 times in the evening.
