Hi, I wanted to know your take on some nicer, immigrant-heavy suburbs. This is what I had in mind:
Buffalo Grove
Lincolnshire
Vernon Hills
Deerfield
Glenview
Northbrook
Hinsdale
Naperville
Burr Ridge

Can you think of other areas?

I'm not sure where you get the impression that those areas are "immigrant-heavy." None of them come to mind as having really large populations of foreign-born residents. Skokie, Lincolnwood, South Barrington, Oak Brook, and Berwyn immediately come to mind when I think of large percentages foreign-born. Hinsdale, in particular, is pretty much the opposite of "immigrant-heavy."

Percentage-wise Naperville may not compare to Skokie or Lincolnwood, but it’s not an immaterial number in Naperville.

Apparently, Naperville is 18.9% foreign born according to the Census data. That's a lot, but I wasn't referring to Naperville specifically. I can count the number of times I have even traveled through Naperville on one hand. I am much more familiar with Hinsdale, and that's completely ridiculous.

Naperville has a very large number of Indians moving there!

Naperville is also sort of the new frontier for Lithuanian migration - Marquette Park to Lemont, but then as Lemont got more expensive, Darien and Woodridge. But Naperville, especially southeast Naperville, seems to be getting a lot; I am fairly plugged into the community and it is noticeable. And of course Indians all around, but especially in northwest Naperville near the Aurora border. It is instructive that Patel Brothers just opened a supermarket in t hat vicinity.

I have read that the 2020 US Census will find that Skokie to be roughly 50% non-white. Skokie has large numbers of Asians, especially Asian Indians, as well as many Filipinos. There is also a sizeable Middle Eastern population there, as well.

As for the white population in Skokie, the Jewish community, which has been the dominant group there since the 1950s, has declined in number. The character of the Jewish population in Skokie has also changed. It has skewed more religious and Orthodox. Many Reform, Conservative, and non-observant Jews have moved from Skokie. Their favored destinations seem to be Buffalo Grove, Northbrook and Deerfield.

Non-white does not equal foreign-born.

Absolutely. You have a large Indian supermarket in Naperville (Patel Bros.), the number of Indian markets and restaurants has grown over the past decade, and these days there are always a couple of Bollywood movies playing at Regal Cantera. I worked with many Indian-born engineers and IT workers when I commuted to downtown Chicago - many of them lived in Naperville in the areas surrounding route 59, within easy commuting distance to the Route 59 Metra station. Same influx is happening here in Greenville SC, due primarily to the automotive industry growth in the Greenville-Spartanburg area.
