How likely would you relocate from Chicago Suburbs to TX, NC, or SC if your job moved there?

If the job was in Chicago suburbs and moved to Dallas, Austin, San Antonio or Raleigh-Durham or Central SC how likely would you move? Same pay, same seniority, 30 days additional off to move, 3 months extra salary or 10k, whichever is more, to cover moving costs.

I don't work anymore, but some would take it in a heartbeat as they are looking to get out of Chicago for various reasons and want to relocate where its warmer and they can find kindred "Red State" folks and lower taxes.

Others....not so much, it might just be their idea of a living hell. Ok I'm exaggerating.. Me, I would never move out of the Chicago area. I detest hot weather and I don't like the culture of some of the places you mention.

I'm not sure I would do it. I like the Chicago area, and I would prefer to not have to deal with super-hot summers (although the weather right now isn't much different!)

As a single man, I wouldn't mind moving wherever a good job is. However if I already have roots set down with a family and relatives/friends in the area... I probably wouldn't move. The Chicago suburbs are among the best in the country when it comes to offering safe places with good schools and good public transit options. Don't know if I'd be willing to give that all up only for warm weather.

Lived in Charlotte years ago and didn’t like it much, the people I felt were too introverted and not very welcoming, maybe things have changed. My wife and I thought about moving to Texas specifically the greater Houston area but honestly I’m not a huge fan of overly hot weather so for now Illinois it is....

I'd be celebrating, moving to any of those places and not have corrupt lamprey Democrats sucking me dry to pay for their corruption oops I mean "helping the working people."

I would prefer not to leave, but I'm the type of person who would most likely try to go anywhere that I can make the most money and live comfortably.

I think I would find it too hot in the summers. I had to travel to Louisville for basically an entire summer to work once and thought it was too hot.

I have no desire to move to any of those locations (especially TX), so I'd be staying put.

With small kid, the current location NW Suburbs Wheeling / Arlington Heights is very good. Affordable housing, close proximity to lake, great parks for kiddos to play, great amenities and good rating schools 9 out of 10.

Later on, I would only move to California or perhaps Colorado if things get better over there
