This may be a dumb question, but I'm going to be a first-time train commuter since my job is being moved downtown. I have been downtown a couple times already, but basically walked in circles trying to find my office building. Plus, my phone couldn't pick up a signal for Google Maps.

Anyway, when I arrived at Union Station previously, everyone got out of the train and turned right. Naturally, I followed the crowd.

My question is, how do I get out onto Canal St? I need to make my way up to the Canal/Monroe area.

Any other tips on navigating the area would be appreciated.

Thanks!

There's a Canal street entrance/exit at Union Station. After you get off the train and walk down the platform into the station, most people will go toward the three escalators, you want to go to the right of them, turn left and walk past the Amtrak waiting room and take the escalators up to your left. You'll be at Canal. head to the right (north) a block to Monroe.

Honestly, I tried hard to find you a map of the concourse, but it seems that the only ones they have are not really readable.

I did find this. Hope it helps
