I am exploring options for Ryland homes in Hoffman Estates. It is located on the same exit on I-90 as Sears corporate offices.

Would anyone mind giving me an opinion as to the areas in and around that area..schools, community, people, surroundings etc ??

There are almost all Single family housing around that area..

Is the area pretty welcoming in terms of activities etc? or is everyone reserved by themselves?

It would be awesome if you or someone you know has experience with Ryland in that area. If not, I will appreciate a general feedback about the above areas or about anything around there.

Thank you.

(if you know someone who owns a place at Ryland / Beacon Pointe or any of the other communities, do you mind passing my info to them or telling me about them?)

Anybody? you dont have to answer all the questions up there. Just general questions in and around the area would be fine as well.

I don't live in that area so I can't give you much info on lifestyle, etc. but it seems like a nice area. The one problem I can see is I think that section of Hoffman Estates falls in the Elgin U-46 school district. Elgin schools don't have the best reputation. Here are a few websites you can look up school stats if you're interested:
