I'm from Milwaukee Wisconsin and I was introduced to Naperville about 3 years ago. And it's a great town. I've been there many times. I love their downtown. Great stores and restaurants. Friendly and warm people. I recommend it for anyone to check it out.

Not to say that the rest of the Chicago land is any better, most of it is just utterly boring over-built corrupted s..t hole.

At least areas along the lake have lake access, and better micro-climate.
Like I said, this probably describes a specific area of town. I’m near Edward Hospital, rarely even notice the medical helicopter. I’ve seen cornfields the handful of times I’ve gone to surrounding towns like Plainfield or Oswego for a couple things. The airplane noise here is nothing compared to living within a few miles (like 4-5) miles of Midway.

Don't feed the trolls. Naperville is a very nice place to live. But there are others too. Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Downers Grove, all nice.

Agree. Naperville is a gorgeous suburb, as are all the other ones you listed. If people travel the country extensively they'd realize you'd be hard-pressed to find the sheer volume of nice suburbs that you find in Chicagoland anywhere else in the country (with the exception of a few places).

Um, wow. You sound like you have some personal issues with the place.

Naperville is a very nice town. I lived there for 16 years. And it's not boring at all.

But it's not for everybody.

I agree wholeheartedly. Chicago itself is a beautiful city but it has some very beautiful suburbs. Probably some of the best in the country if not the world. Plus the Forest preserve districts are something we take for granted but they are really wonderful.

Take a drive along Sheridan Road (I believe it is called Highway 31) from Wisconsin into Rogers Park. You will see some beautiful areas, and some with huge mansions. It is one of my dad's favorite routes into Chicago. I agree it is beautiful.

I never was one to spend too much time to the west of Chicago. But I DO like Oak Park (an immediate suburb). And I like Naperville as well. I may be due for a Naperville trip!

The protection of open space and open lands is one of my favorite features of the area.
