I am about to move to Merrionnette Park, IL - does anyone know what park district they work with? Also does anyone live in the area and can tell me a little about it?

Merrionette Park is somewhat tied in with the Alsip Park District. (it used to be that MP residents had to pay out-of-district fees for the pool but I'm not sure that is still true.) MP also shares the Alsip library district. I believe MP has its own Little League and maybe some other sport clubs as well.

Its a pretty quiet town, lot of familes and empty nesters. Seems to share its identity with Mt. Greenwood more than anywhere else nearby.

I'm a 25 y.o. male, just moved to Merrionette Park in November, and I love it. One of the hottest nightspots is in town, I don't go there, but I hear it provides a nice tax base.
Most people describe it as almost identical to Mt. Greenwood but without the Chicago taxes.
The town is pretty quiet, with the exception of the kids playing. There's lots of restaurants and stores within close driving distance, and Dominicks, two dollar stores, a pet store, and a few other stores are about a block from me, and won't be far from you either. It is a safe town, not too much happens at all.
Make sure you get a Village sticker, as they definately check those.
