Very inexpensive condo. How's the neighborhood?

It's typical late 20th/early 21st century suburbia pretty much indistinguishable from any other such suburbia across the heartland.

Unless you really like condo living and/or must have brand-new construction, that kind of price tag can buy you a move-in-ready SFH in the same area with as much or more square footage and a lot more elbow room.

That's the new development on part of the Motorola property that was sold off. You'll be around (close) to some office space like Motorola tower, Zurich American, Cook County Hwy Dept yard, hotels and other large multifamily properties, like International Village is across the street. Frankly, it's not much of a neighborhood, but it is convenient to shopping, restaurants and has excellent highway access. You'll need car.

I used to live right by there. Area-wise, it's great. Shopping, you got woodfield mall area, with costco and all that, lots of restaurants, etc. You're near the expressway. Metra stations are either north or south of there, not too far. Good school district if you got kids, also Harper college just down the road. Busse woods near there, with real nice bike/walking/running trails.

Not familiar with the redevelopment plans for the Motorola property. But with how large the construction area appears, I assume the place will have a higher density and mixed use appeal to it? Our company has a major office in Hoffman Estates and I have stayed across Meacham at the Renaissance. Area always appeared very nice but very commercial and office oriented. While a car is a requirement, you won't have to drive far for most things.

Shopping areas will be just across 90 freeway via Meacham. Plenty to choose from between 290 and Roselle and Higgins and 90. I think the price is probably fair for new construction. While I am sure there are SFHs in that range nearby, they will be older and potentially smaller and likely need work/updating. Most homes and developments here tend to date from the mid to late 20th century.
