Hi!
I’ve just accepted a job in the medical district and thinking of taking Ogden into the city from the near west suburb of Lyons. I’m concerned about the safety of this route. I haven’t gone into the city in some time so any input would be very helpful and appreciated. TIA!

Nothing to worry about. Pre-covid I would take Ogden all the time from Hinsdale to downtown. Never a worry. There is a speed trap by the park in Lawndale, I learned the hard way, with speed sensors.

Your chances of being a victim of crime driving down the street are slim. This isn't the '80s.

I drive down Ogden several times a week on my way to the hospital. Just like all the other people working in the area which is 1000's upon 1000's. So you should be ok

Yes, Douglas Park between Sacramento and California. I have had 2 tickets so far.

Ogden's a busy road the whole way there so it's pretty safe.

From Lyons maybe use the Stevenson & get off at Ashland. May be better than using the Eisenhower depending on the time of day.

I work in the medical district (although now do more teleworking) and I would not think you would have anything to worry about driving. Now late at night if you were taking public transportation, it may be another story. Although late at night, my biggest observation is that the Medical District just looks very desolate. You do hear about crime every once in a while, but not a whole lot. It is the desolate look that gets me, lol. Although with West Loop expansion it is starting to be a much more vibrant area. Driving, I don't think there would be any issues.
