This is going to be a bit of rant:

So about a year ago I received a red light ticket in Rosemont at one of the most notorious camera intersections on Higgins & River Rd. It's such a scam that ABC did an investigation on it:

https://abc7chicago.com/red-light-ca...ckets/5909537/

Anyway, I refused to pay it and am well-aware that Illinois state is not pursuing collections for red light tickets, but I received a legal letter demanding payment. I'm not scared, but just don't want the ticket to end up getting outsourced to a collections agency to ding my credit?

Does anyone have any experience with unpaid red light tickets in Rosemont? Did it get sent to a collections agency or harm your credit.

Side rant: not sure if Rosemont realizes what a huge deterrent (opportunity cost) this is for their village. I had seriously considered moving my company's offices to 5600 N River Rd, but will absolutely NOT even consider doing any business in the village - let alone host any conferences, visit Rivers, the theatre, the mall, or any other restaurants.

Ignore them.
-The state has said they won't enforce them via license suspensions and tax refund interceptions
-The credit reporting agencies have said civil fines cannot be placed on your credit report only contracts you voluntarily entered into.

All they can do is huff and puff and threaten you with scary letters.

If you get a bunch in the city of Chicago though they can boot your car if they catch you.

Rivers Casino actually is in Des Plaines, not Rosemont for the record. The Des Plaines/Rosemont border, is like a block or 2 south of that casino. But yeah, I GREATLY hate red light cameras for sure. They are such a racket....

More money for cronies. No opportunity cost at all from their POV.

I got one at that intersection.

Never payed it. been a year.
I moved out of state so idc.

My address was at my moms and she keeps getting notices from a collection agency.

But nothing has dinged on my credit report.
They can't suspend license or do anything to you.

Ignore it. Your punishment will be a bunch of scary spam mail saying you owe them.
