using public transportation.

By 'best' I mean route that will take the shortest time. Is there a way to jump from blue line CTA to Metra outside of having to go to the union station?

What would my cost be for monthly CTA and METRA passes? Also, I'd need to park at the forest park blue line station, what is the monthly fee for a parking there?

At the moment I drive to work but with gas prices being where they are, I'm seriously considering public transportation.

Thanks to all.

Forest Park is on the "wrong" branch of the Blue Line to do what you want. You would end up taking the CTA downtown and backaround to Mayfair for the lower Metra rate from Mayfair to Northbrook OR take CTA to blue line under the Congress then going back out on Metra to Northbrook, easily 2 hours+ either way

Take the IKE (90) west to the 294 North. Take the 294 North to Willow Road. Travel time - 30 to 40 minutes.
