I am working in Hoffman Estates so I would like to find a safe and convenient apartment near the blue line. Many people told me to find a place in Bucktown or Wicker Park but that's not necessary. I am on a time crunch and I would just like to get advice about surrounding areas. My ideal place would be a 1 bedroom with my max price being around $1200. Thanks.

have you ever thought of living in hoffman estates? its pretty nice there. i'm not from illinois, im from long island, NY, but i stayed in a marriott hotel there for a few days and it was very pleasant. lots of shopping, new houses, not much congestion. you may also want to look at other suburbs around there. when i was riding metra on the line that goes closest to hoffman estates, i saw many apartment buildings, nice ones. that train line was milwaukee west i thinkk : ))
