I think Wheaton is a somewhat nicer town, but I'd prefer to live in Elmhurst because it is MUCH closer to the city. Wheaton is the boondocks, man. And those conservative weirdos at Wheaton College creep me out.

Elmhurst is another story, the students at the high school were all "wanna-be U.K. punks" (this was in 1999-2003, I'm not sure if it is still this way). I also did not like that gay pride was broadcast at the school, they should broadcast straight pride if they're gonna do that. They would have gay pride assemblies and gay pride posters in the hallways. I didn't see anything for straight people.
For the same reason you don't see "white pride" assemblies or posters. Generally, populations that aren't marginalized don't really need to hold pride rallies.

As an Elmhurst College Alumni, I must go with the most beautiful city in Chicagoland, Elmhurst. The best homes, gorgeous landscape, awesome location, great schools! Wheaton is great don't get me wrong.

Wheaton college kids are a bit weird, even the ones that played tennis as well. But that can be good too.
