We are looking to move Lake Forest and would like to hear the group's opinion about the area, people etc..... I am aware it is a very expensive place to live. Thanks

As you already know.... its expensive, safe, well-manicured, beautiful, etc, with a nice little downtown area and magnificent old and new homes. I recommend visiting the Wildlife Center in Lake Forest, ask to speak to Rob Carmichael who can show you venomous and non-venomous snakes from around the world that they have in their collection, its fascinating.

It has some of the best architect-designed classic estates in the nation. I'm not talking about the newer McMansions there, but the older homes built in the early 20th century. Absolutely gorgeous!

If you are really interested in architecture, there are housewalks in Lake Forest where you make a donation to a charity($30-50) and can go inside the houses. The interior features of the Adler houses are amazing.

Lived on the "poor side" of Lake Forest...my house built in 1903 for $2K sold for $850,000 three years ago. There is no bad area..lived behind the high school. We were the "servants" to the wealthy people. School teacher, police, caterers and restaurant servers for all the wealthy rich and famous. Great place to live...hope to move back sometime...especially since I just found a COPPERHEAD SNAKE in my toilet out here in Oklahoma. Lake Forest ROCKS!

Lake Forest is lovely. If you have children (or even if you don't) make sure you go to The Lantern on Western. It's a great old tavern with restaurant attached. Great burgers, workingmodel train wraps around the ceiling...
