Hello,
I was looking for a place to have my 2 year olds sons birthday party in the south suburbs. I am looking for somewhere different that I possibly may not know about so he could have a great time. Some where indoors would be nice but I am open to a nice park or playground. If you have any suggestions please send them my way. Looking for a early oct. party!

call the local park district, they might have some ideas. They often rent nice picnic shelters, they may have some indoor private rooms, etc.

That's a good idea. I'd start with the following vilalges - Tinley Park, Oak Lawn, and Orland Park. Oh, and Homewood/Flossmoor. Depending on where you are.

I've been to two picnics this summer that were held in nice parks w/shelters. One was in Rotary Park in Lansing (contact Lan-Oak Park District at 708-474-5020) and the other was in Vollmer Road Grove on Vollmer Road near I-57 in Country Club Hills, I think.

Someone recently told me about the Childrens Museum in Oak Lawn. They have exhibits for ages 2-10 and offer private parties. good luck!

We did a birthday there once. That's a great idea. The only problem is that at the time (several years ago) they weren't set up allow birthday food. Its one rectangular room, and the whole space is used for the different activity centers. The nice thing as a parent is that you can sit down and see the the whole place and watch your child go anywhere. HOwever, there's no room for an eating area. There is a covered porch thay might work in non-bee season. There is also a playgruond adjacent to the museum.

Call ahead as they are volunteer-run and need to know about any large groups coming in.
