Hi, I wanted some feedback on Town & Country Homes (by K. Hovnanian). I've read a LOT of bad reviews from people who have bought these homes in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Have any of you lived in a home built by this company or know someone who has? They have homes available in the following cities: Volo, Elgin, Oswego, Wauconda, McHenry, Huntley. Are any of those locations good places to raise a family and do they have good schools or good private schools? We'd like a halfway decent yard as we have two small, energetic dogs. Are there any good builders/neighborhoods out there? Right now we're looking for a home (single family) in the Chicago area for up to $350k.

Thanks!

Where are your jobs located and how long are you willing to commute? Most of the towns you listed are outlying suburbs, so if the job is in the city it will be a long commute.

We're in our mid-20s and looking for a place to raise a family. My husband's an engineer and I'll have my degree in horticulture/landscape design. Right now we're getting an idea of things and what's available and where the good areas are. I've looked at jobs in the following cities: Northbrook, Naperville, Barrington, Glencoe, Lake Zurich, Downer's Grove, Plainfield, West Chicago, Glencoe, Elgin, Elk Grove Village, and Lake Bluff. ANY information is helpful! Thanks!
