We found a townhouse in this area off of Governor's Rd. We noticed, however, that at the corner of the house there's a police camera in one of the light posts.. which was kind of strange to us in the beginning. During the day, there were teenagers roaming the streets and we drove pass the area after midnight one night and it was pretty quiet.

This area is known as one of the worst areas of H.E. The area has had an increase in gang activity (and I believe 2 shootings recently) and I don't see it getting any better. I'd recommend that you try to get out of the deal.... Sorry.
There are much nicer areas in H.E. where you will (eventually) get better appreciation. I own properties in H.E. and would only consider buying Section 8/low income rental property in this area (which might be a good investment as the govt. pays majority rent amt. for tenants).

There are much nicer areas in H.E. where you will (eventually) get better appreciation. I own properties in H.E. and would only consider buying Section 8/low income rental property in this area (which might be a good investment as the govt. pays majority rent amt. for tenants).
