Three people were just stabbed in unincorporated Arlington Heights. That town is going down the tubes! Get out now! (Kidding of course.)

I'm pretty in the know and that area is known for problems and is unfortunately a ghetto of crappy 1970s-ish apartment buildings. But since it is in Cook County, the local police departments (Palatine, Arlington Heights) can't and won't service the area(s).

I highly doubt that either of the adjacent munis will want the area in their jurisdiction, unless it was all or mostly bought for major redevelopment.

When did Arlington Heights become part of the south suburbs?

Well, every area has its pockets (at least those areas that don't exclude multiple family development). Luckily, the apartment complex isn't actually in the Village of Arlington Heights, but simply has an AH mailing address.

BS headline. Unincorporated means just that. There's a reason the area ISN'T incorporated. It's like the neutral zone from Star Trek.

Sure it's a BS Headline, but the Tribune did the same thing on their web site. I guess they figure it's close enough, and "unincorporated Arlington Heights" confuses people.

Arlington Heights is VERY SAFE.

This crime happened in an unincorporated part of Cook County that is close to Arlington Heights.

I was born in Chicago and grew up in Chicago. I live in Chicago now.

Arlington Heights is safer than all parts of the city of Chicago.

I would live in Arlington Heights.

These things do not happen often in Arlington Heights.

Really? I mean that's great news. I found a nice apartment complex and in the pictures looks reallly nice ut u never know what's around. How about Metra? AH is on the yellow line. To get to the green line to go to Great lakes do I have to go all the way down to Chicago to make the connection or there is another connection somewhere north-west of Chicago?

Thanks much
