Hi,

I'm enjoying the new job and the lifestyle here in Evanston, but at the end of the school year my wife and son will be joining me here and I'll have to anticipate some changes.

The wife is set on district 203 schools and I've learned not to debate these things. Can anyone point out a good agent to help us find rentals (home/condo) in that area? Preferably someone you've worked with, not just someone you know about

Thanks!

Naperville isn't actually north of Evanston. Its nowhere near Evanston. I hope yolu don't work in Evanston because that commute would kill anyone.

From what I see, 203 covers more than that. Whatever the case, this map (www.newtrier.k12.il.us/media/files/content/New_Trier_Web_Site/About/township_map.pdf - broken link) should describe my intent. Staying close the rail is also a priority.

From the map the OP posted, district 203 is New Trier, which is nowhere near Naperville. Can't help you on the rentals

Ah I was thinking elementary districts. No one ever refers to New Trier as "District 203", they just say New Trier.

You should just look in the Pioneer Press for rentals. I'd try picking up the Wilmette & Winnetka Editions. Wilmettte is your best bet for staying near the Metra. There are some condo& apartments near the station. Winnetka has a few too. Northfield isn't anywhere near the Metra and Kenilworth has virtually no rentals. Most good agents don't work with renters. They only make a tiny commission on rentals. Likewise, most people renting out their homes & condos dont list on the MLS.

Wilmette without a doubt. There should be some rentals available. Not nearly as much as Evanston, but they're out there. The area near the Linden CTA station (easy connection to Evanston downtown), and downtown Wilmette near the Metra station both come to mind.
