I recently relocated to Lombard. I'm looking for a fun place for my husband's 25th birthday party. Ideally, someplace fun and memorable and somewhat laid-back. I don't mind traveling in the suburbs but don't want to go downtown. Any suggestions appreciated!!

what about chicago indoor racing or whirlyball? I believe both places do parties- and both are fun places to go to just hang out. Whirlyball has a bar and more of a chill atmosphere. Chicago indoor racing is in Melrose park and there is a whirlyball in Lombard.

Zed 451 - Awesome restaraunt with rooftop bar. It is a remarkable eating experience. I took my husband there last year for his birthday. I know you said you didn't want to go downtown--but worth the trip!!

if you just want to go out for dinner,and if you really like meat..check out the texas de brazil steakhouse in the woodfield mall. that is the place where they keep bringing you a huge variety of meats, all to your table. they have a great salad bar. it is around $45 to $50 bucks a person. You can check out their website and sign up for emails and they will send you some great coupons. It is definitely worth it!

If he likes sports, check out Lucky Strike in Lombard, in the Yorktown Mall. You can have dinner (casual), do some bowling and then hang out in the bar area, which is huge, modern and rather hip and has large TVs to watch games on. Comfy and laid back. Went there for a work event after work and everyone liked it. Check out their website. It is NOT your typical bowling alley. Most of the group were 20-somethings. For a fun dining experience, Benihana on Butterfield in Lombard is fun. They do lots of bday dinners there. You could combine these 2 places, they're really close. Dine at Benihana and then go to Lucky Strike (under a mile away) for bowling and drinks. That would be a fun evening.
