Does anyone know of any reputable, licensed, contractors that warranty their work, in the Homewood Floosmoor area, and have references? Looking to get a quote on wood floors, pulling duct from kitchen range exhaust to outside of house (exhaust currently vents to attic), installation of a privacy fence, and installation of sliding patio doors. However, there may be some other little odd jobs in the mix. Lastly, anyone have a lead on an excellent but inexpensive landscaper, and a locksmith specializing in Medeco locks? Oh I guess I should mention that privacy fence is something we were looking to do right away, anyone had one recently done, what kind of cost am I looking at for say .50- .75 acres? Also anyone ever used home depot to do any of the above, how much do they charge? Thanks.

I have heard nothing good about the big orange box. It is just a "pass thru" and will not make anything cheaper or better.

Best way is personal referral -- "they guy that did work for me was great". If you know ANYONE that has had similar work done, ask 'em. Second best is probably referral through a business relationship. I now dozens of people that have worked on my rental property and for real estate clients. The trick is weeding out the firms and individual that consistently do good work at fair price. Way done the list is "impersonal reference" I but the on-line services in this category.

If you were in eastern DuPage I would have a couple of folks for you, but not sure they would be willing to drive out our way.
