Well to anyone that lives here You know that Gang life is starting to come here. Romeofest this year and last year have been interupted by gang fights. Lucansik is a nice middle school, but AVM Is a little Trashy. For gangs Romeoville is mostly occupied by peoples nation, and by peoples nation i mean kings. Out here theres alot of gangs, Vicelords of all different factions, GD's MLD's Two sixes, Kings, COunts, and alot of branched off gangs starting from scratch.

Oh Jesus Christ I could write all day about this ****ty suburb but I will not have time right now. Let me just start by saying we have the largest population of trashy neighbors in the state, from white to black and everything inbetween.

And I don't think Bolingbrook is a step up either, my brother went there to high school and the school is actually worse than RHS.

Also these houses SUCK. Any house not made out of brick is going to suck but our foundation was completely screwed from the start, considering they built our house next to a quarry. No padding in the walls so I can hear everything going on in the basement from upstairs.

Weber/55 is a nightmare. Actually Weber towards Airport road seems to be bad too.

I work at Applebee's (well did, I quit) and the most rude, ****ty people come in everyday.

School was nice, teachers were cool, hated the students though. And the only reason it is a bad school now is because the demographics have changed from a predominantly white school to a predominantly Mexican school. This is nothing against Mexicans, but the lower class ones do not seem to value or care much about their education. They are also a bunch of wannabe gangster thugs who cop an attitude to every person of authority.

Don't get me started on Romeofest this year and last. Gang fights last year, threats of gun violence this year, supposedly fights at every corner. That is just ridiculous, it is a family event for crying out loud! Mexicans and illegals have ruined a very fun and friendly event, go figure.

This town makes me hate Illinois more than I probably would living in Plainfield. Maybe it is true that I should get out of Will County before I pass too much judgment on this state.

Hopefully, things are looking up over in Romeoville. I just bought a house there because of its price and a neighbor greeted me and said yes, there are/were gang problems, but Romeoville PD is doing what they can to clean it up. I used to live in Bolingbrook, so the fact that it's made #32 in best placed to live in 2008 by Money Magazine, hope it's contagious and oozes over into Romeoville. Since the last posts here on this town, the Target, Kohl's, and Walmart have been built, seems to be helping the community. In the process of moving some things into the house, I didn't find the traffic on Weber that bad, I've seen worse in other parts of the nation.

Moved here and still happy compared to where I came from. Yes disappointed to see some graffitiying around the subdivision but maintenance is doing their best to wipe it out. Does anyone know a decent plumber in the area?

If you are commuting to downtown Chicago, consider New Lenox and take the Metra into Lasalle Street station. I think it's about 50 minutes, and there is a very large parking area(s) in the area. The eastern end of Lockport, and Homer Glen are also close to the Metra. Lockport and New Lenox(Lincoln-Way) school districts are the very best in this area. And no Plainfield does not have the best schools in Will county. Romeoville is home to some, and I'm sure home sweet home, but I really would not live there; and I grew up very close to it. Seriously, though, New Lenox, Lockport, Homer Glen, Franfort, Mokena, and even parts of Joliet are a better choice and all have proximity to the Metra. Hope this helps.

Romoeville is better then it used to be. The west side(55&Weber) is mostly new but traffic around 55&Weber can be pretty harsh during rush hour, east side is a lot of older homes, but cheaper. The school district is 365U which is shared with Bolingbrook and is not the greatest district. The nearest train stations are probably Naperville, Lisle, or maybe Joliet.
