Hi!
I got my tax bill not that long ago, and I'm being charged on a house that is worth $100,000 less. Anyway, I dropped off my appraisal that I got because I just refinaced my house. The village called and said they were coming out to measure my house. Well, it turns out that I am getting a refund of $580 because the Sq footage was off. Not by much (300 sq ft) but it dropped my taxes that much. My question is, can I go back the 16 years I've been paying taxes and get a refund for all the previous years? Shouldn't the Plat of Survey of the house have the correct measurements?
