Hello,
I found a thread about this from a few years ago, but wanted to see if anyone had any more current sugestions. I relocated here last fall (thanks for all the help on where to live!!!) and I feel like I'm finally getting in the grove of my new job, traveling for it and the area. With all that taken care of I'd like to find a more more liberal protestant church to attend (Methodist, Presbyterian, Episcopal, UCC...etc) in the Wheaton, Naperville or Glen Ellyn area. Finally, I'd like to not be the only single 25-35 year old there. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in Advance!

Wheaton is considered the Bible Belt capitol of the US. Wheaton has more churches per capita than any other place in the country.

By far the best church service for young singles is Park Community Church, 5:30pm services, every Sunday. It's not out in the burbs its in downtown Chicago. Nothing comes close for singles I've tried them all.

Is Park an offshoot of Willow Creek?

I'm originally from the bible belt so the large number of churches doesn't even phase me.

Is Willow Creek a mega church? Mega churches freak me out a little it, even if they are completely legit something about then feels a little to cult-ish to me.

Thanks again everyone!

Yes, Willow Creek is enormous. It is up in Barrington. I hear mostly nice things about it, but if you don't feel comfortable with all the high production values and super on line calendars then you probably would feel silly driving all that way...

Look into the UCC church in Glen Ellyn on Forest Ave near Lake Ellyn. First Pres. in Wheaton on Ellis Ave. may also be a good place to check out. Depending on how "liberal" you are willing to go there is a UU church in North Naperville right off Naperville Rd. Happy Searching.

100% Cultish. I went there once with a friend to support another friend getting baptized. We were so scared we clung to each other. There is just something fundamentally WRONG with a church having a Krispy Kreme inside it.
