These areas kind of appeal to me, they are just a couple blocks from White Eagle and some really nicer areas but housing is very affordable you can find townhomes and duplexes for around 100k give or take 10k up or down. It's also a good area as far as being close to the mall and other things.

I drove around this area. Homes are smaller than further East towards Naperville, people don't take quite as good care of their homes and yards and its a little more black and hispanic not that thats a bad thing just commenting on it. I know its not Naperville but home prices are significantly lower, taxes are lower and I would think its good and safe seeing as how its a couple blocks out of Naperville.

What is this area like? Is it safe? I imagine its safe from violent type crimes but will you be having car breakins, vandalism, etc things like that in these areas?

The areas I'm referring to are Ogden and Middlebury, foxhill, etc. THe other area is basically a few blocks over near Montgomery and Andover?

That was an area we were looking at when we first moved out here and ended up in a newer townhouse 1 mile to the train. We thought we wanted a SFH, but got something newer and easier for commuting to the city if that's a consideration. We have a small yard area and a park at the end of our block for our toddler and dog. I agree that the homes and yards on some of those blocks don't seem to be maintained as well as other areas. Are you sure taxes are lower than Naperville for the same price range and space? Typically Aurora trends higher with taxes than Naperville, but you'll get a little more house for less. I don't want to overgeneralize, but there are some neighborhoods over that way that do seem to have more petty crime, but nothing where I'd be worried about the safety of myself or my child. If you want to PM me I can kind of give you the run down of our house hunt almost three years ago in the area and what I've learned about the area since then now that we have a toddler.
