For anybody that is not familiar with the area or is just curious...
Here is the extensive Metra system in Chicago:

Wow that West Lake Corridor would be amazing. That would save so much time for those of us that work downtown living in Lake County. I also think many more people would consider living in these towns, and in turn raising property values over time.

This needs to be done...like
NEEDS to be done. I speak for myself when I say that if they build this extension, I would definitely live in the area after I graduate instead of Illinois (and work in Chicago)....The winner right now is The Illinois Suburbs...however, if either Indianapolis develops a rapid rail system or NWI expands upon the South Shore, those may win me over Illinois...but until then..I guess we can only continue to voice our opinion of what we want and hope steps are taken to realize this need.
