I would like your thoughts on the health clubs in Oak Park. I know that there are several in the area and we are considering The Y, FFC, and maybe the Tennis Club. Are there others? Which one do you prefer and why?

My wife and I have been working out at World Gym on Montrose so you can bet that anything we move to will be quite an improvment!

The YMCA seems to be very popular in OP w/ families. Not cutting edge like "private" clubs like LA Fitness and such, but sufficient and fairly cheap... $150 init. and ~$75/mo. for a familiy. They have a decent basketball court (when you can get on it), a small swimming pool, three handball/racquetball courts, treadmill room, free weights, sauna, etc. Cleanliness is a bit of an issue. Overall, decent.

FFC is the best. Awesome equipment and great classes. The gym has a ton of natural light so it has an open and airy feel inside. Adequate child care too. I remember when I looked into the prices - it's not really any more expensive than any of the other gym options.
