I said the same thing to some friends about the sepia when trying to explain it! I also said it looked as if everything were embalmed in amber... one of the strangest weather occurrences I've ever witnessed.

From my 18th-floor windows I could see dark clouds, lightning bolts, a rainbow, and sunlight reflecting off buildings, all at the same time. Incredible! Sorry, I didn't take any pics, though.

D@mn Steve you really do live in the boonies. Wow. I have a pic like that too but there are a bunch of houses and apartment buildings in my foreground along with high tension Comed lines. No Wheat over here anymore.

Yep, 8/23/07 and 8/4/08. I'm a complete freak for severe thunderstorms, so I sadly know those dates by heart. Chicago really gets screwed on the severe storms. Maybe one ever year or two.

I have to say though, I love the sirens here compared to other places. It's not just the usual wail to warn you, it's a full on attack siren.

Im not really in the boonies... I live in Warrenville, close to 2 Forest Preserves and one of the few remaining farms in the town (I think there are 2, actually).
