Very true, but as mentioned by countless others, the number of crimes aren't the issue, as much as the abject concentration, and avoiding those areas.

You also have a larger number of immigrants and others than in other north side neighborhoods, who might be reluctant to contact police to report crimes.

Plus, Fagus & Moore are too of the most incompetent, pandering officials on the North Side.

abject concentration?
you mean concentration of abject poverty?
true to some degree. but this is changing, even as far back
as the year 2002 this was seen in a gentrification study

it will be interesting to see how the numbers turn out
after the 2010 census.

Its true about new immigrants not calling the cops.
But they do provide a positive street presence and have been key
in getting rid of some of the spots where bangers want to hang

I will take Moore and Fagus any day over the likes
of Shiller in Uptown, she is downright horrible.
She is still dedicated to keeping concentrated poverty in Uptown
and low income housing.
Moore may pander to developers, but those are developers
that were building higher end condos. Much better
than what shiller did with the whole wilson yard fiasco.
Which hopefully will get her voted out of office
