Why do you have more stake than most people?
I am there every week on personal business.
And I pass through all the time.

2 stops from addison, thats the wilson stop.
And one stop from sheridan.
Its gonna get much better. Its inevitable.
They would like to have an artificial permanent
northside ghetto but its just not realistic.
Market forces are too strong.

Because I live and own property in Uptown. And most people don't.

True. Whereabout in uptown are you?

I dont live in uptown but live close to the morse el stop.
So while Rogers Park doesnt have the same amount
of crime issues as Uptown, I can relate to some of
the madness, there were a couple shootings
where I live this year.

Personally I think that the prospects for
Uptown are very good.
It has a whole lot of potential, more than
most people will give it credit for.
I see some people "give up" on uptown update
sometimes and say they will move out.
Living there in Uptown or Rogers Park where I live is
not for the faint of heart.
But even with the economy where it is
both neigborhoods really are moving in the
right direction.

One cant just sit on the sidelines
and hope for the place to get better
or just complain. And one cant expect
things to turn around in a day a week or a year.
And one cant just look at the crimes
or shootings occuring and just say
oh its hopeless. Thats what the bangers and bad guys
want you to think.

I bugged the landlord absentia right next to me
so much and the cops that the landlord
finally fenced in their front steps
voila, no more place for the bangers to sit.
Sure they can stand but they wont stand as long.

I cant stand some peoples pessimism
but in some ways I like it.
Some people think Im nuts living and owning
where I do. But I know better.
When someone doesnt believe in me
I just work that much harder to prove them wrong.
