Hello. I am a mid 20's woman and I am going to be moving to Chicago but I was wondering what the best neighborhoods in Chicago were. I like to go out so being close to the nightlife would be a plus and I will be attending a community college over there so I would like to be within 15-20 min of the school also. Any recommendations would be great, thanks

It would help to know what community college that is. There are no community colleges in Chicago-they are all called city colleges now.

How do you know you want to go to a city college if you have never checked them out?

I am sure the one you go to in your state is not like the ones in Chicago.

Your request cannot really be answered with the extremely vague information you have stated.

The far northwest side of Chicago has Wilbur Wright college which is a city college. The far northwest side is a lot safer than most parts of the city but the 'night-life' is a bit lacking. I'd look into the Edison Park or Norwood Park neighborhoods if safety is number one on your list. Edison Park does have some 'night-life'. You could still go to the 'hot spots' in, say, Wrigleyville by car or I'd recommend a taxi because parking in that area is rather sparse.

Are you serious? the OP is looking for nightlife. I know Beverly is a lovely neighborhood, but it's not one I would direct a 20 something who's looking for nightlife to.

OP, you need to do a lot more research before you make a move. If your education is at all important to you start by checking out the schools.

There are plenty of bars along 111th and Western; its not Lincoln Park, but it does the job.
