Hi folks.

I have lived in Little Village for two years with my boyfriend. To put it vaguely, it looks like my dog and I will be moving out shortly.

I am used to living in a somewhat dodgy area of the city, but not as a single 25-year-old woman. I've been researching neighborhoods and am feeling really overwhelmed.

I can't afford much to be honest, but I've figured that $700 a month is the absolute most I could manage. I work in the suburbs so El location doesn't matter, but parking does. Nightlife doesn't matter either. I imagine a sudden loss of $700 each month puts a cramp in a person's social calendar.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am sorry to hear things are not working out for you.

Sorry about the boyfriend situation. I went through a bad breakup earlier this year, and know how much it can suck. Hopefully you get through it quickly.

You could find studios for under $700 even in Lakeview or Lincoln Park. I don't know how much you'd want to live in those areas, though. Rogers Park would definitely have stuff in your price range, even though it's a somewhat dicey area. Of couse, nowhere near as dicey as Little Village.

Like Avenger said, what suburb do you work in? That would be helpful in suggesting a neighborhood.
