Wanna get a tattoo and deciding which should be the most upfront skyscraper in the compressed skyline I'm planning to get.
Should sears be the biggest and closest, or the hancock?

Or just use this thread to decide which is more iconic without caring about my situation.

Depends if you're a south-sider or north-sider; Up here in the north, the Hancock seems to dominate the skyline but down south, the sears tower dominates.

On a national level the Sears Tower is always brought up in talk about Chicago, The hancock not so much.

Most people see Hancock as That Other Tall Building. After being here 10+ years I kinda like the Hancock better. If you get a tattoo of Hancock most non-Chicagoans wouldn't be able to identify it at first glance.

You mean the Willis Tower?

The Hancock means more to me sentimentally, but the Sears (Willis) tower is more well-known.

The Sears Tower is more well known, but am I the only person that thinks that it is hideous? I just wouldn't....Hancock all the way.

Hancock is more popular in Chicago because of its location on the Mag Mile (and its aesthetically better), but the Sears is more well known nationally because it is the tallest in the US.

But then people might get that confused with the logo of the band "Chicago".
