I find it funny that people that do not live in Chicago even have any opinion on this. Perhaps their political preferances are showing forth?

So much for Daley not weighing in for or against any candidate. The guy couldn't keep the not so secret secret a secret that long.

After so many years at the helm, I guess that you can't expect him to go without weighing in on this issue.

He said several weeks ago he would not get involved though. He went back on his word.

As much as I despise Rahm Emmanuel, none of his mayoral challengers(most especially Danny Davis, he's worrying WAY TOO MUCH about an issue as little as this) should expect he won't be on the ballot in February. What Lookout Kid said, and how I understand election law to be in regards to one's residency, is why I think the current legal challenge(s? I'm not sure if there is only one current challenge against his residency, or more, though I seem to recall reading that there was only one court case that has been filed on this issue) against Emmanuel's Chicago residency will not succeed.

Apparently there are 15.

"Nine other objections to Emanuel’s bid were filed Friday — bringing the total to 15 filed to date."

Rahm is afraid to face the people next to other candidates!

"On at least three nights next week — Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday — just about all of the major candidates for mayor, except the former White House chief of staff, have agreed to sit side-by-side at community forums and take questions from voters or panelists."

And this has what, exactly, to do with the residency issue?

The threads on the subject of the mayor race are locked. So Charles in Charge would you prefer I start a new thread?
