HDR is OK when used as it was intended. but most people don't know how to do it and the photos come out horribly over processed/saturated and looking like they were taken on a different planet. its not supposed to look unnatural!

but then again i still shoot b&w tri-x and develop my own prints by hand.

Do you have an example of one used as intended? When I think HDR, I only think "taken on a different planet."

Breathtaking images! Why is it that when I lived in the heart of the city, I couldn't wait to move?? I hated waiting for the elevator, getting into the elevator - making small talk in the elevator, walking to the garage, getting into elevator in garage, looking for car. Go figure! Don't know if I'd move back though. I also like the other-wordly HDR images - that's new to me, very cool, can see it on my wall somewhere.

WOW! I haven't been to Chicago since I was a kid and I don't remember much of it - going to grandmas as a child had a complete different meaning than living there as an adult. Looking at all these pictures makes me so excited to live there!

My husband travels there all the time and loves it, I get to go visit in July - I'm stoked, the images shown remind me of so many places I've been to and loved, New York, San Francisco... Buckhead (Atlanta).

Not a pro. guys but I thought I would share two photos I took a few minutes ago. I took a moment after the storms pasted - I thought it was really clear outside and perfect for a skyline shot. The camera used is a Nikon CoolPix S51 - but saving for a Dikon D80 and lenses. I forgot to turn off the date feature and when I uploaded them to Flickr I just left it on there. Taken from Edgewater (Bryn Mawr & Kenmore) First shot is looking south and the second is north.

Can someone tell me what this building is? I just came back from Chicago, and this is definitely my favorite.
