Is there a website where I can go input the address and get the property tax amount due or paid?

I was wondering the same thing myself. Also, is there any additional income tax for the Cook County area itself (aside from the state income tax)?

First go to the cook county tax assessor's website and find the PIN (property identification number) for the property of interest. Then go to the cook county treasurer's website and look up the property via the PIN. It will give you the taxes on the property and I think the status of payment.

There is no local income tax anywhere in Illinois (other than the state income tax.)

Thanks!

I asked the second question because where I am right now (St. Louis), there is a 1% city earnings tax that I have to pay. Maybe the right phrase was earnings tax, not income tax.

City income taxes are a sure-fire way to destroy jobs. The city of Chicago does have what's called a head tax, which is levied on large employers and is something like $4 per employee per month. As an employee you won't see this taken out of your check, but obviously its a real business expense for the employer and a (minor) impediment against bringing jobs to the city.

State annual registration fee of $99 (I think). Most if not all of the individual municipalities in Cook county have a vehicle sticker that costs anywhere from $10-$80 annually.

Not to get too political here (though you did that yourself), but there's never been any study which shows a causal relationship to earnings taxes and fewer job opportunities.
