Of course. But hey, we can't "discriminate" and deport these people. It would be violating their "human rights."

$3.1 billion of that is listed as education, and calculated by taking the number of illegal children and multiplying it by the average cost per student for education - which is a rough and inaccurate way to measure the true cost, especially since it doesn't attempt to offset that number with the amount of property taxes generated by "illegals". The majority of education is paid through property taxes. Illegals pay property taxes either directly or indirectly, so I kinda don't see how listing an education "cost" that is funded through inescapable tax sources is a sincere argument.

Well I "kinda" don't see how you can support people that overall are a drain on this country's financial resources and are breaking multiple laws. You and the clowns in the legislature as well as the mayor and governor want to reward lawbreakers?

If you think illegals put in more than they take out, you are blind.

Guess what? Get rid of all the illegals and the unemployment problem goes away. There will never be an unemployment problem again.

Where is YOUR outrage over this Income Tax hike?

By the way,it is funny how you neglected to mention other information from the site . Par for the course, of course.

"...Illinoisans spend more than $3.1 billion annually on education for the children of illegal immigrants. This estimate does not include programs for limited English students, remedial educational programs or breakfast and lunch programs available to students from low-income families."

"Even if the estimated $465 million in sales, income and property taxes collected from illegal immigrants are subtracted from the fiscal outlays, net costs still amount to more than $3 billion per year. "

FAIR: Costs of Illegal Immigration to Illinoisans

Have fun coming up with another argument.

Quinn has not balls. He won't say 'no' to Madigan or the rest of his Democrat cronies. In IL, it's all about what's good for the pols, not the citizens.

And the correct response is:

“The time to be adults was eight years ago, when we were adding programs, expanding spending to a point we couldn’t pay for it, and we knew very well we couldn’t pay for it,”-Rep. Roger Eddy (R-Hutsonville)

That's swell but it doesn't solve the problem. It's just talk.

Now if we can just rev up the time machine and go back 8 years to fix the problem. Otherwise we have to deal with the problem we have today.

I did not indicate otherwise.
Probably best to leave my post as intended and that would be in context with the one I was responding to.
Sounds like you agree with it otherwise, unless "swell" means something else nowadays.

The way to deal with it is the same way NJ is tackling their problems.... CUT SPENDING to payable levels. Take on the unions and call for massive spending reform on all levels. Income tax hikes are not the answer... it's a bandaid to mask the real problem, and that is spending.
