We all know Chicago is so cold 6-months out of a year...

Why can't Mayor get his act together (and instead of spending millions on attracting Olympics), the money could be spent to build a world-class indoor sports facility where the public can go and enjoy during winter time.

Why is that?

What exactly are you looking for? Have you checked out the park district website? There are a lot of of indoors pools, fieldhouses, etc. in the city. My daughter has been playing indoor soccer at a park district facility since early November.

I love the whole "Chicago is so cold 6 months of the year!!!".

Mid October is 65 degrees on average, and mid April is 60 degrees. How cold is cold?

I'm a big fan of the neighborhood rec centers run by the Park District. Mine is two blocks away and 50 bucks for every three months to use the weight room. It's adequate and I'm the only one ever in there. The folks who work there are friendly and sensible. Everything is a la carte. If I want use the weight room, I pay for the weight room. If I want to play basketball, I pay for basketball. There is no ridiculous "joiner fee" or anything like that. Different centers have different stuff. Mine has a basketball gym, but no pool. The second-closest one to me has a pool, but no basketball gym.

If you wanted to join a gym in my hometown -- and my hometown wasn't exactly Hicksville -- in order to hit the treadmill and throw up some weights every once in a while in the winter months, your only option was the YMCA, and for those three cold months, you would probably pay 8x as much as I'm paying.

Next time come up with a better opening salvo. This is probably your 40th account. You give yourself away every time.
