A friend of mine that works at Dominicks ( I think the one on Roosevelt?) said the roof caved in so they won't be working for a while.

There are no snow plows that have gone down any of the side streets yet around here. Just main ones like Ashland and Damen. Some idiot tried to drive through it in a ford focus...they are now stuck...

Default my first blizzard.

Did the southside of Chicago get left out of the blizzard? Im kind of confused with the media coverage. No news at all from the south or west side? Do we need a seperate station for the southside and west side of the city to keep people informed?

Oh, believe me we're well aware of what's happening. Read my 1st post in this thread. That's the southside report LOL

Plus the main streets downtown and up north tend to get plowed first so it makes sense that they would only report from those areas at the moment.

Well, I just shoveled the sidewalk around my courtyard complex. It's a very strange sight around here; there are roving gangs of families/friends with shovels over their shoulders helping people in need and clearing the sidewalks.

There is also a proliferation of dibs happening. Just this once, because there is so much snow, I approve of it.

They still haven't cleared any of the side streets around here yet. I'm beginning to worry that they might not come through today.

IC. IMHO, when there is a shooting or someone showing their butt, it would have been all over the news.

Well I finally made it out of the house...I ran out of beer and had to make a trek down to the 7/11. I cant believe some people are trying to drive thru the side streets that havent been touched, there is 3 feet of snow in some parts. I have AWD and snow tires on my car and I'm not going to attempt it. I just hope all this darn stuff doesnt freeze tonight or any car that is not shoveled out will be screwed
