The blowing is intense. The streetlamp swaying is making me a little nervous.

Just think, once the snow has stopped everybody will be able to build snow sculptures taller than their garages!

Pretty nasty here in Humboldt Park, but the power is holding steady. Looked like McDonalds lost its power/lights for a while but they were back up and running in short order (Maybe they have a generator(?))
Getting my dog to go outside and potty has been a challenge. He stood on the back porch, ears flapping in the wind, looked at me like "Eff this" and hightailed it back inside.
I hope my garage roof doesn't peel off again (Those high winds in October did a number on it)

I love it! Always been obsessed with the weather for some reason. The wind is definitely cause a lot of problems, but I'm guessing based off what we've had and the radar that we'll end up with only around 9" unless the lake effect REALLY hits us hard. Looks like areas around 120 miles south and then from Iowa City to the Quad Cities are going to be the hardest hit. Chicago was suppose to be in a bubble that got the most snow, but I think we'll actually be in a bubble that got quite a bit less than areas to the west and south. The wind has been insane, but the intensity of the snow itself has really been dropping off as it moves into the metro.

Yep. I just walked through some places where the snow drifts are 1-3 feet.

Yay, I got my cable back.

And one of my friends did apparently get stuck in a dangerous situation.
He was in real danger caught out in the blizzard.

Left work at 3pm. Waited for 30 minutes to catch the bus while 4-5 chock-full busses passed by. Finally boarded the bus, which took almost an hour and a half to go from Kinzie to Wrightwood. Exited the bus and walked 3 blocks into some of the most insanely strong and cold winds I've ever experienced. At times, I couldn't even walk forward. Needless to say, I'm drinking a couple of beers right now.
